Gerald, I appreciate your discussion. My wife has similar symptoms and has had for years, In recent months she is now having what appears to be Atonic seizures or Drop attacks. Eyes, close, head drops, and in 2-5 seconds her body will go limp. She looses consciousness for about 10 seconds then slowly wakes up. This can happen up to max of 5 times in 5-10 minutes. She is normally very tired when it happens but her health is bad so she gets exhausted very easy due to liver disease. She has very often had such episodes while setting in a chair and once or twice when she was lying flat in bed, only lifted her hand. Often I notice her leaning against a door frame etc and I hold her up most of the time and prevent her from falling. I am retired so .I stay very close to her and watch her symptoms, but I can not be there every second. Her doctors have her diagnosed as syncope, but I will be talking to them about this soon, She is 69 and has been passing out since she was a child, but I am only now reading about Atonic (no muscle tone) attacks. I am reading about different treatments, Pardon my ramblin, but I though you would be interested .
